Twitter/X Ticker App

Use the X Ticker app (formerly Twitter Ticker) to scroll the latest posts from an X account along a strip of the screen.

Note: Text tickers are only offered for the ticker layer of a built-in layout, for example the 1920 x 120 bottom layer of Layout 3. They are not offered once you resize the layer with Edit Layout.

How to Add an X Ticker

  1. Open the playlist, then click the ticker layer. See Playlist Media Management.
  2. If the layer is empty, the content apps open. If it already has media, click Add New.
  3. Click Text Tickers, then X Ticker.

X Ticker in Text Tickers

  1. In X account, replace the sample text with the account name, without the @.
  2. Set the other options:
    • Number of Tweets: how many posts to show, from 1 to 20 (5 by default)
    • Color: the text color
    • Background Color: the color of the ticker strip
    • Speed: from 2 (slowest) to 10 (fastest)
    • Scroll Direction: tick Right to left to change the direction the text scrolls
  3. Click Save.

X Ticker settings

  1. Click Publish changes of this playlist to send the ticker to your screens.

To show X posts with their images instead of a scrolling strip, use the X app. For headlines from a feed, use the RSS Ticker.
